Springtime by the Beach

SPACES Community is organizing a beach outing for a group of elderly, including a number who are wheel chair-bound or semi-mobile. These are the old folks from one room flats at Blk 31 Toa Payoh. They have expressed their wish to visit the beach.

We will bring the elderly to East Coast Park and have BBQ by the beach.

Date: 25 Feb 2006 (Saturday)
Time: Meet 3pm at Blk 31 Toa Payoh. Event should end about 7-8pm
Venue: Meet at Toa Payoh. BBQ at East Coast Park. There will be transport back to Toa Payoh.
Program: Free and easy at the beach, with Halal BBQ and some catered vegetarian noodle/snack.

We need about 20 volunteers to help the elderly get to and around the beach, as well as BBQ and serve food. We also need a few strong man to help carry a few of the wheel chair-bound elderly up and down the buses.
